Hearing loud noises in your attic? Raccoons are very active in the Atlanta area this time of year. A female raccoon will look for the easiest way to enter your attic and make a nursery for her young in your insulation. Raccoons can cause a lot of damage to your roof, attic space and insulation. Raccoons carry ecto-parasites such as fleas, mites and ticks. They are also host to more serious diseases like raccoon roundworm and rabies. Raccoons are considered high to moderate rick vectors for rabies. Raccoon roundworm is spread via microscopic eggs in raccoon feces (droppings). Raccoon droppings should only be cleaned up by trained personnel with the proper safety equipment. The microscopic roundworm eggs can remain viable for up to 6 years after the raccoon has moved out or been relocated! Raccoon clean up is often covered by most homeowners insurance policies. The technicians at Critter Control of Atlanta can completely restore your attic by removing soiled insulation, disinfecting the area and blowing in new cellulose insulation.

Typical raccoon entry points are roof vents, louver vents, soffit vents, construction gaps (behind gutter at roofline), rotten fascia boards and chimneys. Raccoons may even rip through the roof if the wood is soft (usually a pregnant female). Raccoons are nocturnal (active at night) average 2′ – 3′ long (including tail) and weigh 1- – 20 lbs. They are onmivors, eating both plant and animal material such as fruits, nuts, berries, grain, bird eggs, amphibians, small rodents, dog & cat food left out doors, garbage & so on.

Baby raccoons are usually born from March to June with average litter sizes of 1 – 8 pups, 5 being the average.

Be sure to have your local Critter Control of Atlanta technician cover the cover your chimney NFPA 211 and BOCA code approved chimney screens or rain caps. These are available in galvanized, stainless, black & copper in a wide range of sizes.

All of our repair work comes with a 3 year renewable warranty. Products such as Leafproof Gutter Protection System and Chimney caps come with a Lifetime Warranty.

Call Critter Control of Atlanta today for a Free Inspection at (770) 663-6260. Our wildlife technicians can trap and remove the raccoons in your attic and repair any damage they may have caused. References available. Critter Control of Atlanta is available 24/7 for emergencies. Thank you for your inquiry.

This baby opossum was removed from a residence in Atlanta. This is a juvenille that is now old enough to look for food without it’s mother. This is the time of year when a lot of baby opossum enter homes in search of food and water. Don’t panic if one enters your home, just call Critter Control of Atlanta! We removed the fleas from this baby opossum, gave home a good meal and some fluids. He will be taken care of before being released into the wild. You can refer to our local humane society & rescue groups link on Our Services for more information on young or injured wildlife.

Thank you for your inquiry.

The long hot Atlanta summers create the perfect habitat for young bats to flourish as they feed on all of those pesky mosquitos. Bats are beneficial to our environment as they control the flying insect population, mostly mosquitos here in the Atlanta area. Bats are also protected in Georgia. Our wildlife technicians at Critter Control of Atlanta specialize in bat removal, clean-up & repair work. We all want bats in our neighbornoods, just not in our attics!

This is the time of year Atlanta homeowners spot bats flying from their louver vents at dusk. Homeowners often call us this time of year panicking asking “How do I get rid of bats in my attic?” Don’t panic! We can help you!

Our technicians at Critter Control of Atlanta can exclude (allow them to fly out but not re-enter) your little brown bats and restore your attic (clean up soiled insulation, remove guano, disinfect and blow in new insulation) and prevent future bat entry by closing off/screening any other possible entry points. All of our repair work comes with a renewable 3 year warranty, come products come with a Lifetime Warranty (such as chimney caps or Leafproof Gutter Protection System-keeps critters out of attic).

To prevent bats from entering your home be sure to keep your windows closed in the evening if you do not have screens.

Bats can enter spaces the size of a quarter, so be careful when leaving those windows cracked on the top, mainly on upper stories of your home. Leaving sliding glass doors, garage doors and any other area of your home allow bats access to your living space.

If you discover a bat in your living space on of our wildlife technicians can come out and remove it for you. Never pick up a sick or injured bat as they can transmit rabies here in Georgia.

Raccoons, coyotes, bats & feral cats are known carriers of rabies here in Georgia. If anyone has been in close contact or bitten they can have the animal tested at a local Atlanta Animal Control facility. One of our wildlife technicians can transport the animal to the facility for you for a minimal charge.

The staff and technicians here at Critter Control of Atlanta want to help protect your family, pets & property this summer! Call us at (770) 663-6260 for Humane Bat Removal/Exclusion and repair work. Free Estimates, Online Coupons, Senior Discounts and other Seasonal Specials Available. Available 24/7 for Emergencies. All repair work comes with warranty. References available. 30 Year Anniversary. Serving the Entire Metro Atlanta Area and beyond for all of your wild animal control needs.

Got Snakes? Bats? Rats? Raccoons? This is the active season for these animals this spring and summer here in Atlanta. Your attic if a far better raccoon nursery than that old tree they used to live in! When snakes frequent an area you not only want them removed, but also to figure out why they are there in the first place. Snakes frequent areas where there is s constant food source, such as mice, chipmunks and moles. When customers call regarding a snake hole I try to explain the snake just cleared the rodents from that hole and slithered out looking for more! We will catch them all! Snakes do provide us all with rodent control but we do not want them close to our homes or inside them either!
Hearing noises in your attic? Did those little footsteps you heard this summer turn into several more littlefootsteps running all over the place in the attic? The reason for that is that those squirrels born in your attic this summer are all grown up now and bringing in additonal nesting material and acorns to store for the winter in your attic. Your attic is the ideal home for gray squirrels, flying squirrels and the dreaded roof rats. An attic provides insulated shelter for these animals and keeps & thier young safe from predators year round.

Gray squirrels are looking for a safe place to have their spring babies and you attic is the perfect place!

February and March are when most of the Southern Gray Squirrel’s young are born. Call today and one of our wildlife technicians can direct that mother squirrel somewhere else with our humane exclusion methods. It is better to keep them out now before there is a nest of babies to relocate to a wildlife rehabilitator!

The professional wildlife technicians at Critter Control of Atlanta will thoroughly inspect your entire home from the attic to the crawlspace and locate any areas where squirrels, raccoons, opossums and other rodents may be nesting for the fall/winter months. Our wildlife technicians will handle the trapping and removal as well as the clean up and sealing up of any entry points to prevent future animal re-entry.

The two most common critters found in the Atlanta area attics this season ares the gray squirrel & flying squirrel. Our technicians use humane methods of trapping and removal of squirrels. We also provide a 3 year renewable warranty on all of the repair/exclusion work. Call Critter Control of Atlanta today to schedule a free inspection.
